Statement of Faith

What We Believe

The most significant thought when looking for a church is knowing what they believe. Therefore, Statements of Faith are helpful. They reveal what a church believes Scripture teaches are the essential beliefs for us to be Christians and for us to be a church. They’re not exhaustive in all that the church believes nor replace God’s Word. All who join are required to affirm the following Statement of Faith, which reveals us to be a historically Christian, evangelical, and Baptist church. Far from merely being a document to which we give mental assent, this statement outlines the hope that we have for being accepted by God. Our prayer is that our lives would reflect this hope.

As a Southern Baptist church we are in full agreement with “The Baptist Faith and Message.” If you would like a copy we keep copies available for you upon request.

We believe The Holy Bible is divinely inspired by God, absolutely authoritative, and without error in its original writings.

We believe there is one living and true God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is both true God and true man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.

We believe man is the special creation of God, made in His image, and that all have sinned and fall short of God's glory.

We believe that Jesus died for our sins and that all who believe in Him are justified by His shed blood.

We believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, His ascension, and His role as our High Priest in heaven.

We believe in the sudden and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Millennial Kingdom.

We believe all who repent and have faith in Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and become children of God.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people, the eternal life of the saved, and the punishment of the lost.

We believe in baptism as immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and in the Lord's Supper as a remembrance of Christ's death.
